The Springbok is a medium-sized antelope found in southern and southwestern Africa. The sole member of the genus Antidorcas, the springbok is the national animal of South Africa. A slender, long-legged antelope, the springbok reaches 71–86 cm at the shoulder and weighs between 27 and 42 kg. Both sexes have a light brown coat with a white belly, buttocks, and a black stripe along the back. The tail is long and black, tipped with white.
